Default Kit for 1700's heat issue

I don't have a 1700 and follow the threads all that closely so I apologize if this previously posted.

PARTS KIT TO REDUCE 2009
VULCANŽ 1700 ENGINE HEAT
AVAILABLE MID-JANUARY
In surveys conducted with owners of 2009
VulcanŽ VN1700 models, it came to our
attention that some customers may experience
uncomfortable levels of engine heat on the right
side of the motorcycle.
Well, we have great news! A parts kit will be
made available in mid-January for 2009 models
you have in your inventory (2010 models already
have the new shielding installed). Additionally,
Kawasaki will contact current owners to let them
know that they can have this kit installed by their
Kawasaki dealer.
Part kits will be supplied at no cost and
Dealers will be reimbursed for installation of
the kits at their standard labor rate.
Watch your mail for a bulletin in early January
with complete instructions for parts kit ordering
and claiming labor rate reimbursement.

Jeff where did you get this info from? I've been all over the Kawasaki site and can't find it? I hope it's accurate because if the heat problem goes un-corrected it will be a real problem this summer. Anyway, thanks for the info!

The info was reported on the VROC forum by a member who has an advance notice . He reported it in this way, "Got this as an advance notice for VROC 1700 owners. It's not available until after the first of the year, and if you're the owner of record you'll get an official notice"

I would think right now the extra heat would be welcomed.

Same here.....My dealer claims they know nothing, said they talked to Kawasaki Canada and they say there is no problem and they know nothing about it.....LOL.....Is ok, we are used to being a little behind the States. ....I am going to the Calgary bike show on Jan 09......I will see what the factory reps have to say....Get to see some 2010 bikes will see if any difference.....Terry....

It seems as though the dealers are always the last to know about any changes to the line and it's the same here in the states. I remember last year when I questioned my local dealer about the changes to the '09's he said there were no changes from the '08 models! I hope Kawi at least makes the "kit" available to we '09 Vulcan owners even if they don't opp to fix it for free.
