I recently upgraded to my 1992 Vulcan 1500A. 1 owner, only 7000 miles and showroom condition. Any tips and advice welcome.
My only complaint so far is the bars. I like the position of the mean streak bars or 900 custom bars better. Does anyone know if they are compatible, or do I go aftermarket? Thanks!
I'm going to assume the bike's had all the necessary recent maintenance; fluids, hoses, ect. (Take no offense by that, it's better to ask than to assume).
Anyways, there are TONS of aftermarket bars, in every shape, size and color. And they don't cost much, specially if your not having to go longer on your cables.
Welcome from VA. I do not know if they will fit or not. I also like drag bars better. Check out some aftermarket vendors. There are plenty of them out there and they are not bad priced. If anything fab you up some dummy ones out of what ever you have laying around (Don't care if they are card board, old PVC pipe, Wire hangers) to see where you would like to have them and then see if you cables are ok on length. They probably will be. That is where the expense comes in at. The cables will cost more than the bars if you have to replace them.

I rode a little Virago 535 to get my beginning street experience.
The miles were documented one owner miles. Serviced by a Kawasaki dealer here in Ga. Have been riding it for 6 months now. It runs like a new one and is unmolested. The bars and a few other little items are the only changes I am planning. I let go of the Virago last week..

Great Ideas! My biggest concern is blocking the speedo, so they have to rake back pretty quick. Are they 1" or 1.25"?
1". That is kindly the standard size for all of Kaw's stuff or as of now on the vulcans. The Voyager/Vaq have larger diameter bars but i believe they are still tapered down to 1" for all of the controls.
