Default VN1500 Trike NOS fit ... but first ...

Hoping to fit Nitrous to the trike over winter, my NoS guru feels it will be fairly straightforward as long as we can get fuel pressure up to around 5psi. Does anyone know if the VN is gravity fed fuel or does it possess a fuel pump ... I suspect its gravity fed without looking so has anyone ever fitted a pump? yes I know its a crazy project but indulge me!!!

well is it an FI bike? That would be some indication of if it has a pump or not.

As I understand it, ALL fuel injected bikes have fuel pumps, I believe it's a required component. Fuel injectors are just 'open/close', and they have to have some pressure behind them. There might be some exotic system I've never heard of but if it's a 1500FI, it has a fuel pump.

I do not know if the carb model is gravity fed.

EDIT: I did a quick google search and found a few references to a fuel pump on a 1500 carb, so I think it's reasonably safe to say if you have a 1500, it has a fuel pump. On a lot of bikes the fuel pump is inside of or recessed into the fuel tank, to save space.

Default fuel pump

my 96 vn1500a (carb) has a fuel pump under the gas tank and behind the plenum. Be sure to let us know how your project turns out.
