Your painter is right to want that kind of advertisement.
I would say it depends on how you want to spend your day.
Talking to strangers about your bike doesn't sound like a bad way to kill a few hours; but having a few cold ones and looking at other peoples bikes is nice too.

Hate to be a pessimist but a few cold ones and riding motorcycles does not mix, assuming smed is not going to stay on the island anyways... which being 20 minutes from the island I would assume not.

I never ever ride, if even a tiny bit "buzzed".
Which means I'll sip a few throughout the day, but that's it.

I don't advise anyone to ride while impaired.
But, wandering around and people/bike watching during the LSR doesn't exactly count as riding.
I would not look down on someone spending three or four hours of walking around looking at the sites with a couple of stops for cold refreshments and maybe a burger. Then riding to their next destination, of course people process alcohol differently, and you would need to make that decision for yourself.
If I were at the LSR and consumed three beers and stayed three hours, I would have a .02 BAC.
Actually; considering I would be walking and consuming water as well, the alcohol would probably sweat out at a faster rate.
But, I agree with Smedlin. I never ride when buzzed.
I don't think I have ever consumed more than two beers then ridden on the same day.
