Default Changing oil pump gear on 99 1500

Does anyone know for a fact that there is no other way to change the oil pump gear with out splitting the case. I know about the judge oil pump gear.
But was wondering if it could be done with factory gear. I have looked at diagrams of the pump and gear and it looks like it would have to go in from the outside. Would really appreciate advise from someone that has been there.
Thank you

Everything I've read here states that to change POG with stock metal gear the case has to be split.

Default POG Vs JOG

RETURN OF THE NOMAD
After two long months of waiting the NOMAD is finally returning to the open road where she belongs. After my POG Failed & it was replaced with a JOG without splitting the cases.
I’ve done a 123 klms (310 miles) test ride and other then a slightly different engine sound all seems well.
Thanks to everyone for their support & information and a special thanks to Bob “Judge” Oglesby of Georgia U.S.A. for his brilliant engineering as well as KELEN KAWASAKI for their patience & going well beyond regular customer service.

Default Changing oil pump gear

The Costly Death of the NOMAD AGAIN!
Tuesday 01/12/10 at 5:15 am the NOMAD clocks up 40,000 kilometres.
Time for an oil change the first since fitting the Judges Steel Oil Gear, beauty the change over from the dreaded Plastic Oil Gear has worked time for some serious riding.
5:30 pm finished work NOMAD starts & runs like a dream. I can taste that first beer, the suns finally out after weeks of rain.
WTF is that tapping! OMG oil lights on!" Clutch in KILL switch off. Fcuk
Pushed the NOMAD 5 kilometers home. NOMAD DOA, Oil Gear failure again!
No quick fixs this time a rebuild is the only answer.

When you take side cover off and confirm it is a JOG failure give Judge a call .
40000k between oil changes it just may be blocked line or mesh. Heres hoping

Judges Oil Gear was put in @ 36000klms after POG failed. Bike ran fine for 4000klms.
