Hey, I have to admit I sure love my Vulcan 1600. It's my favorite ride! But last fall I was privileged to pick up a 1999 Triumph Sprint ST 955i for a great price. I have always been wanting a sport touring bike for a while and now I have to say, I found a bike that fit's the bill. It is fast........very fast, but I take it cool though. One thing I love the most about this bike is the saddlebags. They are so easy to snap on and off. Just one lock with a key and presto. Very nice bike and highly recommended!! Plus it has heated grips too. :)

Here she is...

Cool vids. Love the wing. I had a couple myself over the years.:D

As for me....still enjoying my Vulcan 1600 and really getting into adventure touring with my Honda CBF1000. Just wish I could find some decent dual sport tires for the Honda...

I have 8 bikes in a little over a year a half. #1` ws the Kawasaki Vulcan 900; then the Honda Silver Wing; then the Kawasaki 1500 and I have no idea why I sold this one s it ws one fine bike; Then i bought a Kawasaki 1700 voyger and this was a nice easy riding bike but too heavy for me and when you went into a parking lot, you had to be very creful as it is so top heavy, but one nice cruiser. then i bought snother Kawasaki 900 and it was a super good bike for "one" person and in town, but when you got out on the highway, the RPM's were really very high. I now have a Suzuki 650 Bergman and this is one great bike. Handles like a charm, plenty fast and very comfortable. It will be a long time before I get rid of this bike. Yesterday I bought a Yamaha V Star 1300T and the RPM's are right where ai want them on the hiway and looking to have a great time on this one. I put 35 miles on it yesterday and the gearing is high, which I like.

Yes, I too have MBD (multiple bike disorder). I just entered Vulcan World last week. A "bobbed" Savage and a Yamaha Majesty share the garage at the moment. Actually my wife calls the Vulcan "her" bike since I got it so she could ride with me easier than on the scoot.
Many others have preceded the current occupants of the stable.
Some one accused me of going through bikes like a rooster working a hen house.:p

Bought bike #2 in September - a GoldWing. Going to mull things over for the winter as to whether to sell the V900 or keep it for myself. Sitting next to the Wing it's just sooooo much nicer looking, it'd be hard to part with...

Cheers,
Kerry

Not yet, but will soon. The (soon to be) wife is a bit too small for anything in the Vulcan line. They're too tall, wide and heavy for her (as a first bike anyway). So we're looking at maybe a Honda Shadow Spirit... or a Hyosung GV250

Fell in love with the red and white FJ's when first came out in the mid 80's, really wanted one bad for about 5 years and never managed to get one. Basically went bikeless for about 25 years until spring 2011, bought a 96 Kawaski Vulcan 1500 classic. Put 9000 miles on it that summer.

At end of season I decided I loved riding again so much and liked hitting the open road, I bought a 2011 Kawasaki Vaquero 1700 in October 2011, and have put 3000 miles on it to date...we have had a mild fall and an early spring, i rode at least a little every month.

So with spring here time to sell the 96 Vulcan, but before posting to sell starting browsing craigslist for something that would peak my interest for a possible trade, a different style bike to compliment the cruiser. Holy cow, look at that ad for a 1989 FJ1200!!!! and he wants to trade for a cruiser!!! Three days later the deal was down, and I have two bikes...and one unhappy wife LOL

nice variety here...

i just sold a non-rolling but complete bike project as realistically, i would not have the time. it was a 82' yamaha 750 virago. really excited about the bike, soft tail, the front forks were not raked out like a cruiser, but more like a v-twin standard... just a really cool bike, but just no time. the gentleman that picked it up had similar ideas about what he wanted to do so, hopefully he will remember my email and send me some pics of his progress.

My other bike is a 1981 Yamaha XJ650H Maxim. It had 21K miles when I bought it 5 1/2 years ago. Now it has 55K+. Still runs well, but it's showing it's age, and it needs some TLC. (Time, Labor, Cash) I'm putting it up for sale soon, as I don't need two bikes. Any offers?

Man. I remember the Vetter fairings and the suitcase luggage. Showing our age....LOL!!

WOO HOO FJ's and XJ's all around. I own an '82 Yamaha Seca XJ750 that no longer looks anything like a seca. I will try and put up some pictures of what it looks like, but it is going through some major renovations and will come out to be a pure bar hopper bike (hardtail, jockey shift, stripped down bobber), it certainly isn't anything you would take on a road trip.

I have an '03 VN1600 Classic. Love it. The only other bike I would like to have right now is either a V2K, or a VStar Stratoliner.

My wife started out deathly afraid of bikes, but would ride with me on mine. Over the years her fear diminished, and she liked going for rides. Then, about 4 years ago, with the high gas prices, she decided she wanted to do something to use less of it. She got a 40.5cc Chinese scooter. Got 100 mpg with it. She rode it one season, then parked it, because we moved to the U.P. where she works 30 miles away from home. That little scooter just wouldn't cut it on that trip.

She still wanted something economical, so thought about getting a Chinese 250cc with CVT drive. I told her she would still have to get a MC license, even though she didn't have to shift the bike, so why not just get a bike to learn on. We ended up with an '04 Honda Shadow 600 VLX. Great first bike - especially for a woman, because the seat is low to the ground. She outgrew it in 2 months, though. Too small of a gas tank, chain drive, no floorboards.

So, we went out and got her a VStar 950 Tourer. Fantastic bike! Smooth running, light for it's size, and she gets 55-60 mpg with it. She took and passed the MSF course last year, and now really loves bikes.

Here she is riding away on the VStar.

As of about a month ago I bought a 1991 Yamaha TW200 dual sport. I have as of yet to take it for a ride as it needed a few carb parts etc. to make it run properly. But it is the 13th motorcycle I have ever owned and the newest one of 3 I currently own.

However, I am not too happy at how this one has started out. Soooo, I may not own it long. I've only ever owned Hondas and Kawasakis before and this would be my first Yamaha. I am not brand prejudice by any means. I love all bikes and it has only just happened to work out the way it has. Will hopefully get my first ride on the TW in the next couple of weeks. :D

Feeling kinda wimpy here...

I bought my Vulcan 900 three days before having my thyroid removed, and 38 years after giving up my previous motorcycle, a Norton 750 Scrambler.
After I was recovered enough from the surgery to get seriously back into riding I found out that I had seriously lost my touch.
So I
  • took a MSF course, and
  • Bought this little motorcycle for practice

It's a Yamaha Virago (or Viagra, depending on the day) XV250, a baby cruiser. Soon it will be a baby bagger: I've ordered saddle bags, a trunk, floorboards, a heel-and-toe shifter, and overdrive sprockets for it. (17 / 40) No, I'll never get that money back out of it, but on the other hand I commute a hundred miles round trip to the VA hospital twice a week, and I might just use it part of the time as a cheapo commuter, at nearly 100 mpg.

Nice bobber it will be, you just gave me an idea.

2007 Husqvarna TE250 dirt bike, with 300CC cylinder kit, Rekluse clutch, left hand control for rear brake (instead of clutch). A sweet ride on a mountain trail.

Still have and love `05 KTM EXC 400 with the 453 kit, all decked out, sumo set up on and dirt knobby set up at the ready, little BadAss

Lined them up for pictures, by handlebar height. Dirt bikes went away last year (2-Suzi DR350's) Oldest son in the Navy has a CBR600 but has grown tired of riding hunched over, another son in Phoenix rides a Vulcan 750, his ONLY transportation.

Dude, I want a Triumph Bonneville SO bad! Love ALL Bikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

#99 ·
I drove several miles last night in my cage (can't get my electric keyboard on the scoot) alongside a very new-looking Triumph. I'm not sure if it was still a Bonneville, although it looked much like the Bonnevilles that ruled the streets back in the late 1960's... except it had floorboards! Cool looking bike. Definitely a cruiser seating position, looked comfy. The guy on it was wearing a Triumph jacket, too - take that, Harley riders!:p
