Highway bars, or engine guard? What's the difference? I see both listed in catelogues, and they look pretty much the same. Are they different, or just different names for the same thing?
Well, they work as "crash" guards, or engine guards, or tip over bars, whatever, if the bike just tips over. They don't do a thing for if the bike crashes going forward.
My engine guards are there to protect the bike when I tip it over while stopped or barely moving. After that they aren't a whole lot of good, although I think they look good.
That's why I got them. And they make a nice place to mount driving lights.
