I like old style bars. If I could find a set of rams that suited me I'd have them in an instant. Now that I bored the holes out of the top cover for the risers my options open wide so I will keep looking.
They look good on there. The stock bars, or buckhorn style, just don't fit me. My forearms hurt after riding a little bit. the drags just feel better. I bored out the holes in the tree for the risers too. They're some big bolts. I'm waiting to see how yours turns out. It's amazing how much the look of the bike changes by adding/removing some parts. Keep it up, looking good.
Buckhorns! That's the ones I meant to say. Love those. Just the ones that come back almost directly toward the seat ... not the ones like old 10-speed handlebars.
Can't really call it too much progress. have to put in the new fork tubes, put on the rebel shocks to drop it a bit, drop in the engine, and get it to the welder's to stretch, rake it a bit. Just thought I'd put this chassis pic up.

Oh, thats not THE seat. It will look like that one, just made off of this OEM seat pan. I put this one on to scoot it out.
I am keeping my shocks. My back is too old for a rough ride like that. Plus I still think I can make it look decent even using rear fender braces.
Thinking about welding the sissy bar to the rear fender braces and putting an "X" brace on the sissy bar for support (just below the little bar for my tail light and tag frame). Then I will glass in a King and Queen seat pan onto the OEM seat pan and affix that to the sissy bar by some removeable clips.

Any experience with removable p-pads? My goal is to have a solo seat with a fender rack that I can change out for a p-pad on the quick for passengers.
