That's the way the world is supposed to work! Too bad our govment doesn't understand that. Give him a call and ask him to sign up and introduce himself. He has already proven to be a 'brother,' even if he doesn't know it yet!

What a refreshing story. I think there are lots of people like that around, we just dont hear about it very often.

Yeah it is nice to hear a good story for a change. It seems everyone is so enthralled by the negative in the world and want to moan and groan about it.

It's sad that about all we here about are the bad things in the world, when there are really decent people who go unnoticed every day. Glad to here you are riding agian, and glad to hear your story.

Hey killbugs, you are a biker. Very much so as it is your only transportation. Bikers aren't about dressing like pirates or having weekend getaways in only perfect weather while you don your "biker" clothes.

Bikers are people that care about it, addicted to it, feel an instant connection to others, and help them out.

That's a story about two bikers IMO.

^^ well said

I will be switching jobs in the coming weeks and one of my new coworkers rides a $20k HC Ultra Classic... I asked where is it? He said ahh I only ride it on the weekends, and it's too cold anyway.

PFFFT $20k on a bike. No money left over for a good pair of gloves and chaps?

Seriously though, it is my only transportation and it has been going on a year now. Last year I bought my first 2 wheeler with my tax refund. This year I've got some dental work to deal with but if it weren't for that I would pay down some bills and do some maintenance upgrades on my bike instead of looking for a cheap car. My worry is if it's 40 degrees and rainy outside I may be tempted to just take the car and start wimping out on the bike. Being forced to ride in any weather has been good for me. I'm a bike n00b and I have had one hell of a crash course in riding... rain, shine, hot and cold... in traffic, idiot drivers... I've been through a lot in the past year and I'm better for it.

Great story. Good to hear their are other folks out there willing to help.
On another forum there was a fellow rider that went down & tore his bike & misself up pretty good. He asked for help in kinda the same way you did & implied financial issues. Several of us sent him parts that were sitting in our garages collecting dust to help him get his bike back to roadworthy. Paying it forward is how another member worded these acts. It kinda stuck for me...

My bike's my daily transportation also. Sold my car not too long ago because in the course of a year I didn't even put enough miles on it for an oil change. Couldn't justify the expense of having it around if it wasn't being used.

Cold I can do without, but then I'm in Florida. I actually enjoy riding in the rain. *shrug* Something about it.
