Thanks Ghost,
I am looking to get a 900 but haven't yet. I am on a 650 V Star with 81,000 but would like to have a bigger tank and avoid the shaft drive...the splines get stripped and the rear worm gear can't be bought separately. The rear assembly is > $1,000.
Just hope the belt drive lasts awhile,they look to run $400 for one belt.

The drive belts hold up well. I had 40000 on mine with very little wear. Good luck!

Welcome from MA. Riding in 34 degrees is normal up here. Just wear layers, chaps, leather jacket and some gloves with liners. Go out looking like one of the Village People and your good to go.
