Rev limiter

I have a 2000 V2K. Cobra exhaust, hyper charger, andCobra FI2000. Yesterday I was out for a spin and wanted to "open her up". I hit the rev limiter and it acted as if it stuck. I eased it to the next good stopping point, when I left off the throttle and stayed off for about five seconds or so the fault cleared.
Is this a normal thing or should I get this checked out. On all other bikes I have hit the rev limiter, let off, and the bike returned to normal. This one took about 1/2 mile and the five seconds to clear.

It should have "cleared up" as soon as your RPM dropped back down.

could the throttle have gotten stuck?

What year did ya say you have? (not that it really matters).

Nope, the throttle didn't stick. I could still deccelerate. The year is 2000 and off course the engine size is 2000 as well (this causes a lot of confusion).

I think there is some sort of confusion since 2004 was the first year for VN2000.

yup thats right... 2004 was the first year for the vulcan 2000, AKA the V2K !

Yep, you are right-I was wrong (my last bike was a 2000 Roadstar). This is a 2005 V2k. I wasn't even drinking and made the mistake twice (don't tell my wife). Sorry guys.

I imagine its nothing to worry about . It's probably an Ecu hiccup.

It acted like it was hitting the rev limiter last December. I cheched the throttle cable and Throttle Position Sensor. Everything was cool for a while. About two weeks ago it happened again, but this time the fault never cleared. I checked everything in my limited ability again. Finally took her to the shop. The Sub Throttle Actuator was sticking. The mechanic was straight up cool. He took it apart and cleaned it out and saved me $250 for a new part (or at least that is what he told me). Has anybody else ever had this problem?

I had that problem on my 900...happened 17 times in 4 yrs but always cleared up instantly.....on the 900 the actuator is not available separate so the whole throttle body was replaced under warranty !!!!
