You are nuts! The 47% don't pay federal income tax because they don't get paid enough to owe any, while their ceo is making obscene amounts.

The top 2% may pay 50% of income taxes, but they take 80% of all income.

You have to look at the whole picture, not just the talking points fox news feeds you.

A couple of points.

Wage disparity and the governments role in the issue is a different topic.

That 80% of income number is false. Perhaps you are confusing it with ownership of wealth. I haven't checked the numbers, but would not doubt the case.

The top 1% only have about 20% of the income yet pay 38% of the taxes.
The top 5% only have about 35% of the income yet pay 59% of the taxes.

You should quit relying on the talking points MSNBC feeds you.

Yes, and nor would I doubt it but we're not taxed, directly anyway, on wealth.

More people voted on this weeks episode of The Voice than in the presidential election. Where is this country's priority?

I love the thought of a flat tax on income or on sales (not both mind you). Everybody pays the same amount (10%, 12%, or somewhere near that). Nobody is punished for being LEGALLY successful and nobody mooches off of society. Simple code, the government knows what will be coming in and every tax payer knows exactly what will be going out. Sounds soooooo fair to me.

There is a larger portion of multiple vote individuals for the Voice.

I AM entitled to a bigger share of the profits produced by MY labor. That is the point. MOST of my production profits go to some CxO instead of me reaping the rewards.

Maybe they are a great executive, but they don't produce much of anything.

Look at history. When we were paid a bigger share of OUR labor, the country prospered. Now that the "management" is taking more and more, Producers suffer, the country suffers.

"I AM entitled to a bigger share of the profits produced by MY labor."

No, actually you are not. You are entitled to a fair and just wage, nothing more, nothing less. The same goes for management and the CEO. Whether the CEO or you are under or overpaid is another argument. The owner is entitled to the profit, not you and not management.

So who exactly is the owner? Well, at my firm it is my wife and me. Anyone working for me is there for the purpose of making me money. In return, I pay a just wage. In the big company you could well be the owner. Do you have a pension plan? An IRA? A 401K? A 403B? All of them invest in stocks. That means they are the owners and they are entitled to and need those profits. It is what will pay for your retirement, unless you tax it out of existence.

If you want the profit for you labor then do as many of us have done and found your own company. Get a fast food franchise for example and then see if you think your workers are the ones entitled to the profits. Costs too much? Okay, set up a home cleaning business, very low capital cost to set up. You set it up, you get the customers, you make sure the bills are paid and payroll is met (along with payroll taxes), you take out the second mortgage on your home to expand, you take the risk of being sued when something goes wrong. Now do you think someone else deserves the profit?
