The "other" benefits that I like are price,more tires to choose from,and a more comfortable and quieter ride.
The "little" bumps are soaked up.
You also are less likely to get a flat that strands you {although I have} and it's easier/safer to plug a big 'ole car tire.
If you are on the road it is also much easier to find a tire that will fit your bike.
Bill, I think the best way to know if your insurance will be good with the CT is ask your agent. Different companies may look at it differently. Its the only way to know for sure, short of filing a claim.

The real test is not what the agent says, but what's in the fine print of the policy/what's in writing.
I think this would be real interesting...first, ask the agent if there would be any problem with that. If he/she says "no problem", ask'em to put it in writing and see if the "no problem" changes into "let me check on that".
My best riding buddy totaled his and there was no mention by the adjuster about the ct. He received his check in about 30 days and back on the road with money left over.
I'm sure that's true but it likely depends on the severity of the accident, and perhaps the suspected cause. If there had been serious personal injury or some other large money at risk, someone would be looking to subrogate that claim and that's when the real teeth gnashing starts and the fine-tooth comb comes out.
Six weeks ago I totaled my V2K in Galveston when I collided with another bike. I had a Goodyear Triple Tred on the back. My insurance company paid off on my bike within a week and covered the other persons injuries.
i can understand why being that a mc tire is softer than a car tire. but thats also why i have decided to go with a softer car snow tire if i do switch over. but its good to know because i suspected but didnt know if that was the case in stopping.

Well i live in Washington and therefore only look for tires that are good for wet weather riding. so i guess i am used to softer mc tires. But still as far as riding on the darkside goes i would think a car snow tire would work great. softer rubber with lots of sipping for traction but on a mc so it will still last a long time in comparison right?
