2013 classic seat for the 2009 SE

Do you know if you can use a 2013 vn900 clasic seat on a 2009 vn900 custom se? I looked at one and the rear part of the seat it's very close to lock, since is a thicker seat it does not go all the way down. My other question is, has anyone modified this part to make it fit? I'm thinking of cutting a little peace of metal to make this piece on the bike to seat a little higher so the pins lock, do you think it will finally fit?

I put a Classic seat on my '07 Custom. Not sure what year the Classic seat was off of but I don't think they've changed it. It fits and looks fine but I had to use a nut and a washer on each stud as spacers under the latch bracket to get it to where it would lock. Fits nice and tight
