Default Rear Highway Bars/Guard

Does anyone know if there are rear highway bars/guards available for a 1600 Classic that mount in front of the saddlebags like comes standard on the Voyager or Nomad?

I just spent time this week looking for some for my 2002 Mean Streak. No luck. Any help would be appreciated.

I searched this once before and came up with zilch. I think the only answer is to fabricate them out of mild steel pipe bent to shape and with flanges welded on. Shouldn't be too difficult. I guess the natural mounting points would be the shock mounting bolts...probably have to get slightly longer ones. Any other ideas? Anybody know how Nomads mount theirs?

I haven't dropped my bike, but I'll bet crash bars on the rear along with existing bars on the front would make picking it up a lot easier.

I looked and the answer is no, you can get them for a Nomad, then do some mild fabrications but they don't look right in my opinion. I looked into fabbing them myself and realized after getting them chromed I'd be into them for 250.00 or so....needless to say my bike is without rear crash bars.
