I have Kuryakyn's version of the floor board mounted pegs, and they are great. I can stretch my foot out, or my leg depending on foot placement. Usually I ride with my heel on the floor board, and ball of my foot on the high peg. Very comfortable position.

Agree using a throttle paddle. I have both installed and use the paddle all the time. Throttle lock is best on open stretchs of highway.

Am flying out to Austin next Friday 14th to pick up a bike and ride it 1130miles home on Saturday and Sunday.
Here is an example of what I am going to carry. There are no saddle bags on this bike, only Sissy bar bags.
I have to send a "care package" out there because I cannot travel with a knife in my carry on bag.

In the care package.
Multitool
knife
Duct tape
Electrical tape
Tie wraps
Power port assembly I made up (fused) for charging phone. Spare fuse.
USB insert for power port for the Scala Rider. Gotta have tunes!
2 - 18" Bungee Cords
2 - 4' Utility straps
Bailing wire.
Throttle boss....will install it before I leave.

Carrying on the trip in addition to the above.
Couple hundred cash
AMA card.
Insurance paperwork plus what I get from the current owner.
Helmet and charge cord for the Scala Comm.
Two pair of gloves. Open and insulated.
Cell phone and charge cord
Camera
Sunglasses
Riding jacket and liners
Riding jeans (Bought some Diamond Gussets a while back and like them)
microfiber towel and couple small bar towels
Rain pants
Long underwear
Plus a couple days change of clothes. Toiletries.
Havent decided on boots yet. Like my shorter pair but if it's cold will prob take the longer pair

Sounds like alot but the care package for example fits in a small 4x6x8" box.
