There are a few restrictions that would bar someone who
should be allowed to carry; from getting their permit.
A fraudulant restraining order for instance.
I wouldn't advise anyone to break the law; but I would go to jail in an instant to protect my family.
The best option of course is to have the CHP before it is needed.

I agree with this.....in principle.

I have some friends that are LEOs. They have a hard enough job and giving them trouble is not advised.
But, as several of them have told me.
If your life is in danger; do what it takes to remedy the situation. It is better explain your actions in court, than to lose your life on the street.
