Maintenance

So looking over the manual...

I found that I have been somewhat lacking in the maintenance department on the bike.

Sure I've changed the oil regularly, tires, air filter.

But according to the manual, I need to change the following:

Fuel hoses
Coolant
Radiator hoses and O-rings
Brake hoses
Brake fluid

The bike is an '08 that started life in early '09 and now has 32.5K on it.

Do you think all of this is necessary?

If so, if you have done it, how much coin you think the parts add up to?

Yes it is. If you want your bike to be dependable & last for a while it has to be able
to depend on you to keep in in top operating condition...

I hear what you are saying and I fully intend to change the brake fluid and coolant.

But radiator hoses and fuel lines?

Do people replace these on bikes at such short intervals?

I know they are not the same as cars, but I've got a jeep with 180K on it and it still has the same fuel lines and hoses that came from the factory 15 years ago. It's as reliable as a hammer.

I would change the fluids but I would only inspect the fuel lines and radiator hoses to see if they are dry rotted or any leaking or cracking. Maybe remove one and see how it looks, you wouldnt want to be on a long trip and spring a leak.
