definitely diggin the look. I was really interested in doing a mod like this when I first got the bike and from seeing this was done in hull, Iowa it must be these guys http://www.oldinc.com/ . here's a pic of the first 900 i seen done it
if i remember correctly he was on the kawasaki btk forums as jpsurgeon
Same guys !! His standard fenders didn't fit the Vulcan 900, been there, tried that. Forge rode over from Kansas, Oldies used his bike for a mockup, they made a mold based on an actual 900.
He got the first one, we're waiting on fender #2.
you mean the their standard fender wouldn't fit without minor modifiactions..... like i said just because something isnt a bolt on it dont mean it dont fit !!
I am working with them to design a bolt-on fender I can turn around and generate orders for. Most 900 owners want to take it out the box, paint it, bolt it on and ride. Personally, I cannot think of a single one who would want to try and put a size 12 foot into a size 10 shoe.
well sometimes when the size 10 shoe is all that is available some 900 owners are not afraid to make it work....no one makes a fairing which holds a stereo which fits a 900 custom..so i made one fit... pretty simple and i will say again just because something is not a bolt on does not mean it dont fit !!!! And FYI the whole hotrod/custom industry is basicly just that putting a size 12 foot into a size 10 shoe !!!! and MILLIONS of people enjoy doing it !
LOL, there's just no teaching some people. This is a business deal. Since MOST 900 owners would prefer a bolt on, I am going to make that happen. I've got a friend who owns a cycle shop who would LOVE to have this bolt-on to paint and sell to his 900 customers. When someone sees the wife's bike at a rally, etc and are wanting one, I am going to make it as easy as possible. As for the minority who insist on doing things the hard way, well, let 'em go find someone else's fender, this will be too easy for them.
LOL you are right there is just no teaching some people that just because something is not a bolt on that it does not mean it dont fit !!!! And hey if this is a buisness venture then this is not the appropriate place to be doing it as neither you , the maker of the fender nor the bike shop in question are registerted vendors or sponsors of this forum !!!
hey if a size 10 shoe dont fit break out the blade and cut the toes off. I myself agree with big worm. I would rather make custom fit items myself (did it for years when I owned my shop) then be like everyone's bike out there with a easy bolt on.
