I got mine off without damaging the chrome using a dremel with a small wire-wheel. I was suprised that it took off the plastic without leaving any scratches. The wire wheel had approx 1/4 inch fibers that were fairly stiff.

I just got removing a piece of a plastic garment that fell on the muffler, I was on the road and by the time I got home most of it got burned off, used a wood ice cream stick to remove what was left over while the muffler was hot, then very mild chome polish

just dont use a razor blade or a metal scraper it wll scratch the chome

I use super fine steel wool and elbow grease, no scratches left behind.

I've heard oven cleaner works great (haven't tried it, but a group of buddies of mine all swear by it)

Basically you apply the oven cleaner, ride for a bit to get it nice and hot, then scrub it off.

Wondering if a Mr Clean Magic Eraser would work in this instance? Works wonders on a lot of other things.
I've heard about the oven cleaner too.

I've had a bread wrapper melt to the side of a toaster once and never worried about it. Just turned the toaster around so it didn't show. Just ride at night and no one will ever notice it?

Use a Heat Gun, Leather work gloves and some Cotton rags. Use NON Flamable Brake Cleaner, Then Polish with Crome wax.

I wonder if acetone would work. It works great for removing plastic easily on injection mold machines. I don't know if it would damage the chrome but if it doesn't it would make short work of that.
