Bought the bike with 1.3 miles on it, had .7 when I told the dealer I would take it. I do have a car, and my girl friend has a van, but whenever possible we take the bike. Have done as much as 775 in a single day on it. Since I moved to Ga. 5 years ago this feb., bike has only set for 1 week without being road.

Hats off to you bro. You definitely get your money's worth out of your bike. I'm in NC on the coast and it tends to rain a lot during the summer months. Really doesn't stop me from riding but if I can avoid the rain, I will.
Febuary 16th will be 7 years sincei picked it up at the dealer and will have over 100,000, short of an unforeseen incident. Been trouble free, but planning to move up to something better suited to 2up touring before next summer. Still plan to keep the 800 though. Great bike!
I live in Omaha, NE. I ride when I can, and I do commute on it (only 8 miles, but it adds up. And my job does require some running between locations). My other ride is a Tundra, and at 15 mpg I the bike for that reason as well.
Maybe best of all though, is that my wife loves to ride. She's never had any desire to get one of her own, she just likes to ride on the back.
And we vacation on it. It's probably been 3-4 years since we've taken the cage out of town.

That helped out a lot. Last year I had an 1100 V-Star Custom. I only had a chance to get around 3K on it the whole year I had it just commuting and what little I rode it on the weekend. I got 6K on the V2K since April. She likes riding again since it is a much better 2 up ride than the Yam.

I have an 08 1500 Vulcan Classic that I bought new in 2010. It now has just over 20,000 miles on it. I put over 16,000 miles the first two years but I spent most of my free time this past summer building a garage. Hope to have more time to ride next season now that the garage is done. This bike has been trouble free. Great ride!
