looking to beef up the vulcan a bit. I put the cobra slip ons on love em but a drop in fuel mileage and popping is happening, so i want to get the fuel processor and air filter maybe. What is the best way to go about this to get good fuel milage, more power less popping, and still maintain good drivability for long hauls? any input is great thank you.i want to know what is best brand and fixed or adjustable fuel processor and of course a k and n filter.
For the fuel processor if you just want something that an idiot can install and set up in his driveway, the cobra is pretty easy.
If you want something that is more flexible but may require some help to set up/install depending on your skill set, I'd go with something like the Power Commander.
As far as air filters - The first thing I usually do with any vehicle I buy is drop in a K&N filter if I do nothing else. I'm not convinced that I'm not wasting my money though, frankly.
Are you thinking on putting an air kit of some sort?
Well I'm 100% for the power commander five. It is without a doubt the best way to go.
You can read at least the last few pages of my thread and will realize several guys like the map I came up with. http://www.vulcanforums.com/forums/s...=14889&page=24
Or you can choose from many maps from their web site. With my map I still get in the low 40s mpg and 99% pop free. You are welcome to have my map if you want it.

If your Vulcan is FI try marbleing the reed valves(check Gadgets page) unless you just HAVE to have a processor. You dont really need the processor unless you change the exhaust AND the intake. 1 marble, actually unless you have some around the house you have to buy a small bag for a couple of bucks is the least expensive start at reducing or stopping the popping. I got a great deal so I have the Cobrs.
