I don't care about the light at all, I'm just happy that the gauge looks right. I'm never afraid to run well over 200 miles before even thinking about gas, but my butt usually stops me before that anyway!

If I get to 200 ml I start getting very nervous about getting gas Pacomutt...
But again I am commuting, so less mileage but lot more gas stations on the way.

With my weight and size plus thanks to all the fuel (anti-smog) additives in gas, I doubt I could even hit 200 mark when commuting (street only) and even if I did, the tank would probably be almost completely empty.
My light comes on right around 120-130 miles range which means I have about 1.5 gallons left. On the freeway/highway rides, I can get around 145-155 when the light kicks in.
I have K&N Air filter and Cobra Fi2000 installed months ago and do SeaFoam every other 3rd fill up. I tried different octane gas, made no noticeable difference in mileage or the way it runs. How I ride made the biggest difference closely followed by these additional factors:
- Periodic SeamFoam treatment (3-5 floz.)
- Tire air pressure
- Oil type/condition
