Well that figures! Literally 5 minutes after I posted that SC Johnson did not reply, the email came in. Here is there latest response:

Thanks for following up with us.

To confirm, there was only a change to the propellant (from LPG to compressed gas) in all of our cans of Pledge® Furniture Spray. The product inside the can is still the same, and although it's not recommended for painted surfaces due to the different qualities of paint, we'd expect you to continue to receive great results.

I hope this helps to clear up any confusion.

yep. Some of those bugs can get brittle even when softened with water, and the HP dissolves them.
