So I just recently wrecked my custom and had heard that the classic rear fender is a direct bolt on to the frame to the custom and figured I'd give it a try. Now does this mean all I have to do is buy the rear fender or do I have to purchase the classic subframe as well? This is something I've wanted to do for a while in order to get rid of the gap between the fender and rear tire. Has anyone got any experience in this?
Have you considered going aftermarket? I have a britt motorsports / Kustom werks rear fender with license plate cutout. Also have the plate bracket. Both brand new , both forsale!
Well the reason I was asking is because I crashed my bike and got a nice check from the Insurance company so if I could get it directly from kawi I'd just do that. I've seen it done but the subframes on the two bikes are different just wondering if I'd have to change mine. Sorry chap
do you still have and the fender? and if so can you post a pic? I'm changing the rim and front tire for an 160/18 i believe it was. smaller rim but bigger tire also from brits
I've completed the swap on my 08 Custom and the Classic fender is a direct bolt up to the Custom frame. The other item you will need is the wiring harness that runs from under the seat to the rear lights from the Classic as well.

I've completed the swap on my 08 Custom and the Classic fender is a direct bolt up to the Custom frame. The other item you will need is the wiring harness that runs from under the seat to the rear lights from the Classic as well.
