down in the V2K section is the bestest place to post this.
Part depends on what has already been done to the bike.
Also, it really depends on what you wanna do with the bike; turn it into a bagger? Cross Country Touring Machine? Bar Hopper? Space-warp time machine?

If your bike is an '04 or '05, I'd recommend the resistor mod (Google is your friend).

Mine is an 05 and would like to do this but need some clear instructions/link on how to do this. Resistor size as well as debaffling for this year. Thanks for the input. Every book is a kids book if the kid can read.

Basically, the V2K has TONS of horse power. So much that ma kaw decided to limit the timing in the first 4 gears. I seem to remember they did with this other bikes also.
The "5th gear resistor mod" eliminates the retarded timing. It makes a huge difference in tork/power for the lower gears.

Actually, think of it more like giving it a lobotomy.

Cliffdog, if you PM me your address I'll send you a resistor. It's the exact one you need.
And instructions can be found here:
http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...installed.html
Or Here:
http://vn2000.com/pages/resistor_mod.htm
Smedlin's links will get you there, too.
I still haven't found the limits of this thing's power. I haven't had a situation yet where there wasn't enough on tap. I have yet to go truly WOT.

I was thinking more of some fruity, liberal no-bike-left-behind scenario. But I don't want to open any political can of worms.
