Since my V2k is my sweeties least favorite bike to ride I am changing how she is set up {the bike }.
I WAS going to get hard bags before I had my pulley & splines crap out, so that $$$ is gone.
I had even bought a nice rack.
Well,I removed the passenger stuff and now have a bare fender.
I have never liked the little stock leather bags so I've been looking into tunnel bags.https://www.google.com/search?q=moto...w=1200&bih=677
The trouble with them is that there is not enough room to mount them between my seat & where the hardware for the backrest/rack is.
So now I'm considering removing the rack/backrest hardware & gettin' a big tunnel bag & dumping the saddlebags or keeping the hardware for the backrest/rack & keeping the saddlebags and getting a big expandable magnetic tank bag that easily fits between my seat & inside the backrest hardware.

I went with Trianon viking bags on my classic lt, didnt like itty bittie originals.
Drilled them myself to where I wanted 'The Fit'.
No mods needed,they fit on to mounting hardware of old, off in 2 mins when ya want.
That velcro problem with these bags is quickly solved with a few mins with a disposable razor, lid and bag. I used washers both sides of bag sides for protection. Hold tons and way cheaper than most similar.
For what its worth. Have fun.

Those bags look great.
I'm not crazy about 3 straps to lock/unlock though.
They are 35 liters each which is the size of my Valkyrie hard bags.Good size.
What are those little black buttons in a slot at the end of the straps ?

You used the stock mounting hardware.
Did you like it better than the supplied hardware ?

Yeah JJ liked it better than supplied hardware, close to fender and it worked fine.
Iv used clips on strap ends to open and close, quicker than straps which also work, the thingies at strap ends are slot locks you can push strap ends through [they have an opening] then you can buy some tiny locks if ya want, I havent bothered.

I also used the quick release kit for more of a permanent mount, that can still be removed in a matter of seconds.

I'm looking for expandable,magnetic tank bag ideas/experiences and tunnel bag ideas although I am open to using bags/tunnel/rack bags.

I could dump the rack & backrest hardware & have:
stock bags & a tank bag on the fender
"other" bags & a tank bag on the fender
bags & a tunnel bag that allows the bags to still open {can't find one}
Remove the bags and run just a big tunnel bag,NO rack.
{it could be a backrest and the weight would still be lower on the bike than a passanger since there is no seat}
Or I could remove the bags & have a tank bag on the fender and a rack bag.
