04 Mean Streak Rear Shock Disassembly

Anyone know how to disassemble the rear shocks on a 04 Mean Streak or can they be disassembled? I would like to take mine apart and have the springs powder coated.

Hi Givey66, I havent pulled apart the shocks, but I found a site where I can buy new or replacement springs, so from that I guess they can be dismantled, buy a spring compressor or lock the springs with wire before removal just in case there is still tension on, mine have rust marks on and I was looking to replace or have rechromed.

Rust is also my issue plus i was wanting to make mine different by powder coating them black. My bike is candy lime green and i was thinking it would look good if i blacked out most if not all the chrome. Where did you find the replacement springs if you do not mind me asking?
