George, what brand, model and size tire did you use?
195 60 16 dunlop sport 500. Started with 40 psi and realized real soon that was way to much. Worked my pressure down to 26 by 2 lb increments. If i go 2 up i'll increase the pressure. The middle of the tire wore much to fast with more than 26psi. Even with just 26 psi i can drag floor boards and be rock solid and no hi speed problems. Got a little less than 10000 miles on it and have worn off 3/32 of the original 9/32. At that rate i think 30000 is reasonable to expect from it. Good luck and ride safe
I never did put a CT on. New Mich II at 16600 mi for a 4000 mile trip north in Sept. Now have 22800 and very happy with wear or lack thereof and handling. I will revisit the darkside when the time comes.

The reason I inquired about that was because I was going to suggest taking off the wheel yourself and taking it to a local bike shop and get it installed like I did. Perhaps you could do that when a new tire is needed again.

7,000 miles and looks brand new, I would be needing to replace a MT by now at $300 bucks a pop!! I run a radial 225/50/r16 tire on mine, love it!! Good luck with the darkside.
