Be certain that the little plastic edge guard is on the tab. A fender scratch could result if you pull downward and back!

I always slide something like a dollar bill under the tab so it won't scratch the fender when removing the seat.

Good Idea. I use the back cardboard from a note book.

On my 800A the bolt takes an 8mm socket but the threaded part is smaller. The parts fiche says 6X14, I guess that's 6mm diameter, 14mm long.

It is a "J" shaped hook under the seat. Pressing down while pulling back will help.

I stand behind mine also ,firmly pull straight back on the pass portion of the seat , it's a tight fit.

I just slap mine at the hump for passenger toward the rear after removing the one bolt at back of seat

I found the best way was to give it a good thump backwards with the heel of my hand . Used the same method to re-seat it when finished . rod

I can move it side to side so I felt like WD40 wasn't needed. I have pulled pretty hard backward,matter of fact I was afraid I was going to knock the bike down since I pulled so hard. Will give it round 2,round 1 went to the bike.

With the heel of your palm, thump backwards the hump on the pillion rider's part of the seat. I have a luggage rack so I had to push down on the tail.

Stand beside gas tank, put both palms on the rear part of front seat and lean into it with your body pushing down and back at the same time. The bottom of the seat in the center, 1/2 way back, has 2 hooks that engage a bracket on the fender. The hooks are in line with the strap that goes along the rear protion of the seat. See photo. These are what is holding it.
