knocking/rattle noise from cold/cool engine

Hello,
Could it be that Dino has the ability to dull or absorb sound differently than Syn. Thus quieting a "normal", however annoying characteristic of the engine design. Think about it, the design of the engine and it's parts generate sound as well as power. Different designs generate different sounds, Harley's are different than Kawi's. Newer Kawi's are different than in the 80's.
Could be that the different raw material just changes the sound. And probably there was never a "mechanical risk" to what was causing the sound. I just was not appreciated.

I have the same knock / rattle on my 09 dealer mechanic said big cubes big noise, that disappears when warmed up. Then I questioned why none on the 2000 cc bike silence....... ok now we have a problem . I have 19k on the bike and it dosnt seem to get worse. I run syn rotella/ stock filter and change aprox every 3k D&D pipes is the only mod! I not helping but IN the same boat with Kaw. not helping and I wont even start on front end wobble...Keep on riding
