hook up for xm radio

What xm radio do I have to purchase to hook up to the factory radio? I know that I need the cd /xm splitter. But cant figure if it will allow changing of the stations ect from the handle bar controls. My other option is to get a portable unit like the seven series and hook it to the aux connection like my previous bikes radio.

The only one I know of that will allow you to use the controls on the handlebar is the Kawisaki unit, I'm bummed about that because I put my amp where it is supposed to mount.

You need part number K10400-047. Will be able to control it thru the handlebar controls. Do you already have the CB? If not, you don't need the splitter.

if you have a portable XM/Sirius you can mount to the bars and run the MP3 hook up to them - a lot less $$

I ran a portable XM receiver on my ST1300, my 650 VStrom (my first one) and my Nomad. I also had a J&M CB mounted, that I plugged into the receiver. Worked well, and I didn't have any problems changing channels, even with my gloves on. Unfortunately there is no XM/Sirius reception up here, so I just use my MP3 player.
