Hey guys going to change out my risers and bars here in the next month I'm going to swap for some apes. Was wondering what you all run and the prices you looked at to do it. I'm almost leaning twords 20 inch squared style apes with a 1 inch riser. There's a few 1 1/4 inch bars that taper at the ends to 1 inch so I can still use all my same controls and stuff. Which is important. I don't want to have to replace all my gear.
Were did you guys find your bars and how much did you pay. Also the new cables. Were did you find them and how much did you shell out for em. If there's any advice for handy tricks during the install that would be helpful. Also if there's other things to look at for variety of apes let me know your opinion. Photos would be awesome too. Haven't seen to many that have some aggressive apes. Thanks guys
like smedlin said i did a post on this recently. i did the barons 16 inch kongs and just bought the matching cable set. Install isnt bad if your ok with a soldering gun. Id be carefull with 19's unless your a pretty tall guy. Im 6 3 and 16's fit me good.
Wow I dig that set up sarge. That's pretty nice. You have almost the same set up I do but different pipes and bars. I also run the Barron intake. I might pick you brain some time on some of that set up. I love how you set up that rear fender. What did those Kong's cost you?
The hardest part of it I'm running into is the cables...
I have a Meanstreak & extended length cables for them seem to be
hard to find & when I find them they cost an arm & a leg. I'm still
shopping but unless I get real lucky it looks like the brake/clutch & 2 throttle
cables are going to cost near $400..... My wifes gonna be pissed.....

one thing i was going to ask sarge is what kinda of risers are you useing? ima have to swap mine out. friend of mine swaped to some apes and teh tapered part that slims down to the 1 inch part was to narrow for his fury and he had to cut the risers in half almost to make them wrap around the bar because they stuck out to far and over laped the 1 1/4 part of the bar.
