does anyone know where to get engine guards?

You have the 1500A Vulcan-88 like me. The "A" is different than the other 1500 models that they are referancing here. That engine guard will be very hard to find. You might try J&P Cycles, I talked to them a few months ago & they had one in a catalog that they could order. It was NOT listed in there online produts, but I was at the store and they showed it to me in a different catalog. If I remember right it was around $220.

Thanks for the info guys- I checked at jp cycles and cheap cycle parts but could not confirm if their bars fit my model (vn1500a) so tomorrow I`m calling mc enterprises and asking directly. Again, thanks for the info...

Try cruisercustomizing.com they might have them there. I got highway bars from them for my 99 vulcan classic (vn1500e).

If you are wanting the guards so you can mount highway peds????????
You can mount pegs without the guard.
Kuryakyn has some great pegs that mount directly on your bike frame and they look great. I have them on my 06 1500.
