I am about to remove my top box off my Voyager and figure out a quick mount and release bracket for it,but when it is off I want to keep my radio and rear speakers working. So any suggestions where to remount the Antenna permenantly and where the heck can I mount those stock speakers.?I know Harley puts them in the side bags but with the rounded top on our side bags it will be a little more difficult.
Well I removed the top trunk today and i ended up mounting the anteena to the bottom back side of the left side saddle bag,Seems to work fine there.
I also drilled some one inch holes in the plastic chrome trim under the trunk,in line with the four frame mount capscrews, to remount and remove the top trunck easier without removing all the trim again.Still got to figure out where to mount my rear speakers that are mounted on the trunk still.I miss them already.
I love riding with the Nomad backrest on, but changing back and forth from trunk to backrest is a PTA. I have the CB as well to contend with. This is one area where Harley and Victory wind over Kawasaki hands down. The ability to morph the bike into a local cruiser or a tourer when you want is something that will have me looking toward Victory in the future.
Nice. I wish the stock Vaquero seat would fit on our bikes without any modification. It would look great on the Voyager without a backrest. I might just have to keep an eye out for the Vaquero bags and rear fender trim piece for a future project.
Now what is that in the background.I had a 2010 Concours 14 for a year and sold it.I miss it.
Love the Concours. Very different ride than the Voyager. Love all styles of motorcycles. They all bring something different to the riding experience. Thought about getting a Vaquero because I found a couple great deals on them, but after much thought I decided they were too close to riding the Voyager. So, instead I decided to make the Voyager more like a Vaquero that I can also put the trunk back on for a long tour.
So having gone riding without the trunk I have really missed the rear speakers that are attached to the trunk.Could not find a solution to move them elseware so I started searching on the net for a solution.
I think I found one.Reviews seem positve on these. Not sure if I will go chrome or black yet but I am going to mount them to the chrome support bars just ahead of the saddle bags and adjust them to aim up towards my head.See link ,but has anybody used these?
