Smog Block Off plates - Blocking the hose?

So I did the smog block off plate mod on one bike and it was easy, I just put a cover on the hose that goes from the air box to the airflow switching valve.

But on this bike it's different. I'm not sure how to block it off. The hose just goes into the air box. I guess I could just tape it off, but I'd be worried about the tape failing and being pulled into the engine unfiltered.

Any suggestions?

This kit has the plates & plugs necessary for removal of the PAR system.

Damn, it does. And it's a much better price than I paid for my eBay one too. Well, too late now though. Can anyone identify what they used? Maybe I can pick it up at Home Depot.

Cleans up the top of the engine by removing all the unneeded smog hoses.With all the hoses removed it also makes it much easier to do a valve adjustments.

I purchased this kit with the gaskets. PERFECT!! Took longer to get the tank off than to remove this system. The best thing is no more popping on deceleration!!!!!! Also cleans up the top of the engine so you can see through to the other side, Highly recommended.

This is a very common mod on sports bikes but the benefits are the same. Smoother deceleration ati no more popping noise.

In my R6, it helps with giving you a more accurate fuel/air ratio which can be used to tune the bike more.
