However, it's never really been worth it. Them things aint cheap AND the real issue is, on the V2K, it's not like you can really see the rims that much anyways.
The big honky rotors cover the wheels pretty good. See image below.
But, what if I was to get a larger (in diameter) rim, and some "low profile" tires.
The larger rims would allow more to show, and the smaller profile tires would counter act the size.
That's the rub.. it would probably be about 70,000 of them nickles.
Tis not worth it with the big rotors the V2K has. But maybe with some bigger rims?
but that also brings up the question of how do those low profile tires handle?
Assuming you can even get tires in the appropriate size, I don't see why low profile tires wouldn't handle OK. What will affect handling is a change in the size of the wheels themselves. That will change the whole geometry of the bike. The one thing I see that would prevent me from doing what you have in mind is that even if you get bigger wheels and spoon on low profile tires, those brake rotors are still huge and you still won't see much of the rims themselves. A bit more than currently, but, IMO, not worth the small fortune you'll spend on the custom rims. Just my thoughts. Looks pretty good in stock format, to me.

I've seen those. They are pretty common, but none for the v2k. Its hard to find stuff for this bike, specially since its not produced anymore...
I know what you mean about not being about to see the wheels too. I do not give my rear wheel the love and attention I give the front one since with the bags and that big brake rotor you just cant see them. It looks like you already have them chromed or polished. I say since you have that done all you can see real well is the lip. I say that will happen if you go with a different style wheel.

of course a man can fantasize. Contentment is a good thing too but if we were content with everything then life would be rather boring. I have 2 list of things I want to happen to my bike. A list of "liable to happen thing" and "Fantasized things".
