Has anyone purchased lowers for their Nomad from Edmonds Enterprises & if so what do you think. Did they work as advertised by lowering or eliminating wind buffeting on your head? They are quite a bit larger than the stock ones, but i think i could get used to the looks especially if they work.
I use the stock lowers and they work for me. Just interested, are you still getting too much wind with them or have you tried them? I believe the Nomad is pretty much the same front forks as the Classic unless I'm wrong (and I am sometimes).
I had a 09 Classic LT before i bought this 2011 Nomad. I can tell that i'm getting less buffeting around my head on this Nomad than i did on the Classic LT which didn't have lowers. I was just wandering if i could cut the buffeting down further by replacing my stock lowers with some larger ones. The old neck bone not as good as it used to be so the less buffeting the better.

I have chucksters lowers which are the same size as edmonds. They work much better than stock at keeping the updraft away. That is where you get alot of buffeting. Chuckster makes his own and sells them on here and the vulcan bagger forum. $48.00
I took off one of my lowers and traced an outline about twice as big as stock on a piece of paper and was careful to black in where the bolt holes were. Took this to my local Auto Glass shop and had a pair custom made with Plexiglas. Cost me $25.00 and they are perfect. Actually they are about the same size as was on my 2005 Nomad which is what I tried to duplicate. They make a great deal of difference in buffeting!

Those look a lot like the ones made by Vernon Appenzeller on Gadget's page, which are a lot smaller than the ones made by Edmond Interprises. I actually got in touch with Vernon but he is out of stock and the material he uses is on backorder. Were the the lowers on your 2005 Nomad stock or aftermarket?

Sorry I'm so late responding but I have been out of town. The lowers on my 2005 were stock. I suspect they would fit on the 1700 Nomads but don't know for sure or what the dealer cost would be.
