Default 06 V2K Need Opinions

I've found an 06 Vulcan 2000 locally for $5,500. Has 12,750 miles on it. Seems like a heck of a deal to me and I may pursue it. Any issues with that year model and is this a good price for this bike? Thanks in advance.

First of all, nice find. I think the price is very reasonable for the mileage and the model year. (But, there will always be that one guy that will tell you that you got ripped off or you should have talked the seller down, blah, blah, blah.)

Haven't heard of any problems with the 06. The rear wheel bearing issue was with the 04 model primarily. There has been problems with the front pulley/output shaft splines on some model years where the splines have basically been sheared down/off. You'll always find a lemon in any model year with any vehicle/motorcycle. Generally, these V2K's are solid. Minor quirks here and there. This of course is my opinion, so definitely don't base your decision on just one review. Hope this helps.

That's the one I have. Had it for two years now and has been relatively trouble free but the problems I've had have been self or previous owner inflicted. Mine had about the same mileage and I gave 4450 for it but it has a salvaged title. Good shape and clean title I'd say that's not a bad price. Cheaper is always good but you're not getting ripped off IMO. Any extras or add ons?

I got my 05 v2k with 9k miles for $3500, but the guy needed money real bad and it needed(still needs) a seat.

Default nice price

I have not looked at blue book value for that model but I would gander it is below market or at market value. what are conditions of tires. what is condition of cables, was it mistreated and UV deterioration or garage kept. What maintenance will be needed immediately? brakes, of course you would change oil first thing. what aftermarket changes have been done to it? as far as owning a V2K. Iam 3200 miles down the road on mine... I am in love... I would buy it,had I seen it 4 months ago... just saying

In my opinion you should always wear clean underwear, never sleep with cousins, DO NOT pee into the wind, tug on Superman's cape or mess around with Jim.

I have had my '06 V2K for 3 full seasons now and it just turned to 29,000 miles. Biggest expense? - back tires like any other V2K, I just put a battery in and it looks like I may need a new regulator. Not bad for the mileage and the year.

If you want it get it. If the bike is in good shape I do not think you will be disappointed. I do not think it is the "DEAL OF A LIFETIME" but it definitely a reasonable price.

Unless you're a pool-shootin' boy named Willie McCoy and down home they call you Slim.

Im 40:000+ kliks into mine, all by me. Basically you need to know if its anything other than stock, if its not how does it seem to you now etc. Heavyish on rear tires, but its a big bike.
not bad on front tires though, good long ride tank range, but get a mustang seat and stick a batwing on it, and lowers, changes the ride completely for better.
sounds like a good deal, enjoy.
Did I forget to mention I love V2Ks!
