I gave mine a quick washing filled up with NO ethanol fuel and took a cold fla morning ride to breakfest. Seems for a couple of years now friday morning is the coldest day of the week? Still nice just being in the wind!!
Going to remove the seat on my '05 1500 Bobber and trim down the seat-pan and foam. Go to the local fabric shop and buy a yard of Marine/vinyl and make a new seat cover. Something with a "Gator" look to it. Should be fun.
Went to harbor freight and bought her a lift and tire chock. Now servicing without a center stand and having everything up at a reasonable height will be easier! I should have done this years ago!
Did you get the cheaper one? How is it working out? I really need a jack so I can replace my tires.
Other than that, I replaced my fuel tank with a beautiful shiny new one along with a new petcock and fuel cap. Solved my leaking fuel issues and my ugly fuel tank issue all at once.
Replaced the insipid horn with a pair of Fiamms......and ordered Mac Phat Stakkers to replace the stock mufflers.....also adding Memphis Fats 17 in screen. Getting ready to put her away for the winter. maybe 2 - 3 weeks of riding left...
Installed lowers I made from 3/16 plesiglass I bought at Home Depot last week, installed LED light strips lastnight, and changed the plugs today. Of course I took it out for a ride tonight. Want to add a couple more light strips, but just about got it lit pretty good.
Just finished stage 3 de baffle. Could have been easier if I didn't go for 3" hole saw. Should have used little smaller size. But after using my brains got it anyways. Bike sounds awesome now. I would say way better than stage 2.
Oil Change tonight, final ride, fill up the tank, add stabilizer, fog cylinders, stuff some rags in the intake and pipes, and put it away for the winter.
That's TOO SOON - Just over west in Manitoba - never park before November unless there is snow on the ground and ice on the road. But yes I will have to park for winter soon too - sigh!!!
Well today I put on my gently used rivco risers that I got from a fellow member here (thanks Gary!) & took a quick ride to confirm how much better & more comfortable the bike is now with the new risers. Will probably fill the tank soon, dump in some stabil, etc, & unfortunately, put it away till spring. I do have a question that hopefully someone knows the answer to; will kuryakyn deep dish bezels work with signal visors? The bike has some that were on it when I bought it, but I think I want to put the deep dishes on. Anyone know? I don't know if the current visors are kurys or not.
I made the homemade lift and took off my rear tire so I can get a new one mounted in the morning. Also added some new aftermarket mirrors since I couldn't get the OEM ones to budge into proper position.

I did the same with my Straightshots last year, great sound but dulling on the heat shield. The huge River Road saddle bags cover it so I don't care, '97 1500 D. Put Marathon 880 wide white walls on just in time for the hurricane, but it's OK because I'll be doing the Polar Bear runs all winter.
Helped a friend replace the motor in his 04 800 classic. Took it for about a 25 mile ride to make sure everything seemed ok. Tomorrow going out for 2-3 hrs an put some miles on it.
Installed the RAM mount for my Garmin 1490 down front and center on the bar between the risers. Not quite happy with how the wire had to run from the power outlet, but really liking the placement. Does NOT block my view of the radio.
I mounted my Garmin on a Ram Mount on the bar. Great mount BTW, but I am not quite happy with the position and look, so this winter I have an idea for bracket on the windshield to which I can attach the mount.
As I walked out into the garage, my 500 looked at me with puppy dog eyes and said "are we gonna do it today, bud?". Sadly, I had to say, no, but hopefully, one day this week we will.
Looking forward to receiving my sound system...nothing fancy, 2 x No 3' chrome waterproof speakers with a 250watt amp with built in fm tuner, and remotes.....also awaiting on my fiberglass panniers that someone is manufacturing for me
Painted the adapter I made on order to use my motorcycle lift on my 800A.
