I was born and raised in Detroit and have always been a diehard car guy. When I was 18 I got the bug to get on 2 wheels. I was smart enough to know that I was too dumb to ride properly so after 10 years of waiting I bought my baby this year.
After searching for months at multiple dealers I had still not found that one that just caught my eye. I sat on sport bikes, and HDs, and a few others but they just didn't have that look I was going for. I wanted something with good power for a first bike, but didn't want a boat load of miles. I wanted clean with a few accessories so I didn't have to dump a ton of cash in right away. I got a phone call about an hour before the dealer closed. He said he just got it in on a trade and knew it was exactly what I was looking for. It had good power, low miles, clean, and came decked out. Here she is. 2009 Vulcan 900 SE.
I didn't even have my endorsement at the time. I made him wheel it outside, start it, and take off across the lot. I left my down payment and it has been history since June.
I put 7000 miles on it in 5 months, and 3 weeks ago laid it down. In my search for parts I came across this forum. Absolutely fantastic place here, can't wait to catch up on the reading. As far as the crash goes there was oil in the roadway and I had a highside going about 15. I walked away without a scratch, thank you protective gear! As far as my baby goes, she is being repaired right now, with a few tweaks and a new set of shoes, I can't wait to get her back!
