Love the seat, I knew the stock was crappy but after having the mustang I realize it was truly garbage! My wife loves the the passenger also it is so much more enjoyable to ride for longer periods without any numbness etc.
Having said that, the seat has to be installed with some pressure where the OEM backrest brackets curve inwards. It doesn't take much, just I little coaxing to get the seat past where it makes contact. Once the seat clears the point of contact and is completely latched it does not touch the backrest brackets anymore. However I have stopped using the stock helmet lock under the seat as I feel taking the seat on/off often will result in damage to the leather. The wider passenger area padding makes this downfall worth it though.
Hope this helps.

Was wondering if you had any problems with the Mustang Daytripper fitting on your bike with the OEM passenger backrest and luggage rack? I have the same bike, and I am trying to find a more comfortable seat that will work with the backrest. Also, would you recommend the seat for passengers?
