So, the secondary plates are electronic controlled, not by throttle (you). They control air flow, this is why you may feel hesitation. Removing the plates will not hurt the bike, and will allow improved air flow (no matter your configuration). You should feel a smoother, snappier response. Performance will only improve if you decide to add a fuel mgmt processor and air intake system. Its also easy to put them back in if you choose, but I think you'll like it. Just take it easy removing the screws as they are small. I used a magnetic philips driver, but its not necessary. The plates are aluminum, screws are steel. Its easy, believe me. Its one of the quickest mods (besides the marble mod). Have fun.
