I grew up on Lake Murray outside of Columbia, SC in the 50-60's and continued with my daughters into the late 70's. I remember when we added a quart of motor oil to a six gallon gas tank. Remember Scott, Chrysler and Sears outboards. Dad always bought Evinrude. Evinrude, Johnson and Mercury were the big three. Whoever thought Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha, who made those 50-250cc bikes, would make outboards.
