Mountains of east TN / western NC?

The wife and I ride here very often, know lots of beautiful, very lightly traveled back mountain roads, as well as all the "tourists" roads.
If you're headed to that area and want to ride with us, you're more than welcome to join us. Here are several pics we've taken while cruising along, an old log cabin on Franklin Mountain Road and "the world's shortest tunnel," just outside Shady Valley,TN

well, if you're in Murfreesboro, you should know more roads than we do !!
Just spent (wasted) an hour, wrestling with a custom designed fiberglass Indian/Drifter front fender for the wife's 900, the stock tire lacks 1/4" of clearing !! Back to the drawing board..............

Lightbulb Meet-up?

Greetings! My wife and I live in Bristol, TN, and love to ride this area. That looks like "Backbone Rock" just outside of Damascas Va in the photo. Been there lots of times on the way to Shady Valley Country Store. Also Highway 421 "The Snake" back to Bristol. Went to a rally in Maggie Valley last summer.
We are learning our way around, but would love to meet up and ride with you when it warms up. Drop me a line....we'll work out something. Take care and ride safe!

Came up here (Johnson City) from southwest MS on the V2K appx 3 weeks ago, just in time for the snow ! Needless to say, we haven't been riding hardly any. The VN 900 was already here, trying to get this Drifter fender to fit and painted.
Yes, that was Backbone rock. We've managed to learn a few back roads, try to enjoy the scenery, not into dragging pipes/floorboards as a rule, but it happens from time to time.

My wife and I ride Tennessee, N.Carolina, North Georgia all the time. We live in McMinn County, Tennessee and are always looking for new friends.

JonnieB, I'm not far from you either. I'm in Dalton area. Always looking for new routes and good people. Bike down for a couple weeks, rebuilding the top end, waiting on parts. If things warm up in 2-3 weeks be doing my breakin for the new parts. Should hook up n ride. Usually try to cruise, but am on 2nd set of peg feeler since 06.

McMinn county? Isn't that where the battle of Athens took place right AFTER WWII?

there are tons of twisty, scenic roads all along the TN/NC border. The one's we know are east and north of Chattanooga. You're welcome to come ride with us while in the area. We're north and east of Chattanooga in Johnson City. Give us a few days notice, we can give your some pointers, based on how many hours a day you'd want to ride.
