Hey guys, I got myself a nice 95 vulcan 750 bobber project and I've run into a wall. I've got directionals and markers but no head light, and a no crank no start condition. I've read a few of the forum posts and have checked for voltage at the start solenoid y/r wire and at the start relay and get next to no voltage (milivolts mostly). Jumping the solenoid will crank her over but I'm lost. The neutral light is also inop, I'm thinking thats part of the issue, but I'm also thinking maybe the ignition switch could also be a culprit. Any advice would be much apreciated.
1. Take voltage reading across battery.
2. Turn on key and take another reading.
3. Leave key on for 5 minutes and then take another reading.
4. Turn key off, wait 5 minutes and take another reading.
Had a 94 VN750 with similar issues. Turned up being a short inside the junction box. Swapped it out, after replacing everything else and bam, started right up.
1. Push red meter lead down beside yellow/red wire on start solenoid connector to contact pin.
2. Key on, kill switch off, push start button and take reading.
From what I can see there's no power going to it. I'll remove the assembly tonight and check.
