A not-so new n00b

Hi Folks!

I'll be 55 on November 3 and I live in East San Diego County. There are many places to ride around here and, as a retired man with tons of time on my hands, I plan to visit them all.

My ride is a customized 2006 900B. I am the bike's second owner. I have a brother who has two Vulcans, having ridden his, I decided I would get one of my own. I've had my motorcycle rider's license since age 17 but this is my first street bike -- so I'm pretty much a n00b.

So with that I say, pleasure to meet you!

Welcome! Nice looking bike. Can't wait to see pictures and hear about your rides. I bet there are some good roads in the mountains out there.

Thanks Gray. Today I rode Wildcat Canyon Road (cool name, huh?)

It's a popular ride for bikers as you can see from this video. It's an old video (not mine) but it's a fairly good representation of what it's like. Uphill going north, downhill going south.

I lived right off Carmel Mountain Road (near Rancho Bernardo) for a couple of years but that was before I started riding. I still like to go back and visit when I can.

Today I rode Highway 94 to Barrett Junction in East San Diego County. Anyone familiar with the highway knows it's a great ride, but they also know the dangers.
