Gas is leaking from carb under bike?

I have a 1998 Vn 800, & after running it i turn it off & gas leaks out from under the bike, from the carb.The bike runs great,but (sometimes) it leaks gas out of the tube that runs down from the carb? need answers plz can anyone tell me what is up with it? & what should i do to fix? Thanks!!!

is it on prime? if not possible float needle stuck.

Question prime??

I rode it today, & it didnt leak a drop! ? ! Went about 25 miles,stoped & turned it off to see if it would leak? I did this 4 different times. No Leaks! HUmm..It ran Great! dontno whats up with it?

Hey, check your hose clamp at the carb.


Takes two bikers to fill a Tank! LOL

Its not comming from the clamp at the carb! Its comming out the tube that's at the bottom of the carb, that runs down to the bottom of the bike,& runs out on the ground ! ? looks like a over flow tube!

That is what it is, an overflow. Sounds like a bit of dirt on a float valve, or a sticking flow that has work itself free. Tends to happen somewhat more often when they sit for long periods of time, like winter.

A little Seafoam or fuel system cleaner won't hurt, but may not be needed.

Its possible that your needle and seat are worn out and needs replacing.
