This is a different leak than normal. Mine is only leaking when the engine is running, but it is leaking from around the nipple the hose goes on. Thought maybe was from the hose itself, but after putting a screw type clamp on hose over nipple, it still leaks. Am wondering what replacements are being used other than stock, even a manual without the vaccum operation. Looking for a cheaper than stock option if possible.
i had issues with the stock petcock as well. after messing with it for idk how many hours, i found a better replacement. I found that the a petcock for a raptor 660 (something yamaha), would fit vulcan 800s. I ordered one off of amazon for $20> and it fit perfect. Just a manual one, no vacuum operation. I think that there are also some pingels that would work too, but then you are getting into more money. Let me know if you want a link.
if you type "yamaha fuel petcock" into amazon there are a bunch that come up. you will recognize that they look similar to the vulcans o ring. can't tell which ones are good quality but my has worked fine.
Sorry to revive an old thread guys but I am considering getting this yamaha petcock with manual fuel shutoff. Is there anything else I need or is it plug and play? Checked mine today and it is leaking in the on position.
The nipple presses into the petcock. They can become loose and leak. Tap it back in.
