i have a 98 vulcan 800. and need the foot controls out farther. i know its been done and want to know the dimensions of the extensions that people make for these bikes and how to make them or what to use? some pointers would be helpful.
05 Vulcan Mean Streak, Vance & Hines Big Shots, Power Commander, Smoked Front lenses, 65 tbird rear signals 8000K HIDs, LED everything, black bullet headlight, teardrop mirrors, Barons Big Air kit, various powdercoated parts
I think you could make them without welding, all you would need is two pieces of steel the same thickness, drill two holes that match up to the mounting bolts, two more to match the controls, bolt the two pieces to the original controls, bolt them to the mounting bolts. The toughest part will be making some sort of hook up for the brake cable for the rear. I am still working on that part. As soon as I get that figured out that is how I will move mine, 3 inches forward, 1 inch higher.
Its piss easy to do I have made for various bikes already, each is different and have there own unique solutions. My advice is make a rough mock up from wood with all the holes in the right place. Then make out of steel or aluminum which is what I use.
